The World Of Wonders – I Still Don’t Want to Know
“Wanna play ‘My Little Pony’?” Never again I’ll bet. On November 11, 2005 there is a post about an image that left me ‘not wanting to know’. I never thought I’d find another quite as interesting.
And now this.
I’m left, not speechless, but rather so full of questions that my head is spinning. Questions that even in this rather liberal forum of mine I am embarrassed to ask. Why? Because a simple “WTF?” just doesn’t cover it this time. Noooo…..noooo…dear reader, the only place you will find answers to the questions about this image are in places so dark and depraved that it makes you feel unclean to realize you can even think of them. I already feel like taking a shower and I’m only on the third paragraph.
Perhaps I can mix a few casual observations with a few casual curiosities instead. For instance; ‘Is that a boy horsey or a girl horsey?’ Hard to say isn’t it? I’m leaning towards girl horsey because of the cute and very feminine pink elastic on the tail. That’s a sweet little touch that really completes the outfit don’t you think? It really says to me, “Hey, it's all in the accessories!! You go girl!!” But then again I think, maybe, just maybe it’s really a boy horsey with, you know, identity issues. Maybe the boy horsey would rather be a girl horsey. You know, and go to the round-ups and frolic on the prairies with the other girl horsey’s and have little baby ponies in the springtime and….AAAGGGHHH What the hell am I saying?!?!?
See what happens when you think about pictures like this? You start with a little question about gender and suddenly you’re on a freight train to hell. Like an alcoholic who thinks that ‘one little drink’ won’t hurt. I’m never going to be able to walk through a supermarket again and see a kid on one of those mechanical ponies without this image searing my brain. It will take every ounce of willpower not to run over and pull the kid off and you know that standing there trying to explain yourself to the parent by saying; “You don’t understand…you don’t understand,” just won’t cut it with the arresting officer.
And so that is why I really don’t want to know what this picture is all about.
Funny though….I have a sudden urge to watch the Kentucky Derby.
